Cemetery Walk, free band concert planned in Center Point
Everyone is invited to two upcoming events in Center Point in September.
Sept. 7 –Bake sale for Center Point Historical Society and free band concert by Vinton Community Band, 6 p.m., Depot Museum, rain or shine. Bring your own lawn chair. Museum, featuring WWII/Home front open, free.

Breast Cancer Survivors to meet Sept. 2
Breast Cancer Survivors will meet Tuesday, September 2 at 5:30 p.m. for dinner and conversation at Windsor Manor in the dining room. Free will donation for the meal. For reservations please call Angie Tharp 472-2994 or Lisa Staab 472-5255.
Vikette soccer team offers soccer clinic for K-8 boys and girls
V-S Vikette varsit soccer coach Dave Cornell and his players are offering a Soccer Clinic for all girls and boys entering grades K - 8 on Saturday, August 30, from 10 a.m. -2 p.m., at Tilford Elementary Field.
The cost is $20 without t-shirt/$30 with t-shirt.

Center Point Historical Society to host Vinton Community Band on September 7
The Center Point Historical Society annual free band concert will feature Forties tunes in keeping with the Museum’s World War II theme this year. The concert is performed by the Vinton Community Band under the direction of Judy Trygstad.
It will be at 6 p.m. at the Center Point Historical Society Depot Museum on Sunday, Sept. 7. Guests are asked to bring their own lawn chairs.
VPRD offers Adult Flag Football, Labor Day Disc Golf Tourney
For those adults out there looking to get outdoors, enjoy the fall weather along with some physical activity, VPRD might just have what you need!
Adult Flag Football League
This pass-only flag football league will play Tuesday nights at Lion’s Field in September and October. Games will be 5 vs 5 with a maximum of 12 players on a roster.
Beats, Burgers, Brats, Brews and Bicycles
Beats, Burgers, Brats, Brews and Bicycles will be on Main Street and you can explore the Old Creamery Nature Trail Saturday, August 23 from noon to 5:00pm. Volunteers, local service organizations, the Dysart Business Builders and the Dysart Development Corporation have been planning this event for months in support of the Old Creamery Nature Trail.

Tama County Women, Land, and Legacy will soon hold its twenty-third event, The Bohemie Alps: Pasture Walk Around Paddocks & Ponds. It will be held on Tuesday, August 26 at the Rebecca Dostal farm, 2422 Q Avenue in rural Clutier. A meal sponsored by Tama County Farm Bureau will be served beginning at 6:00 p.m. with the event following at 7:00.
